 | This blog site is dedicated to Sean, Shayne and Sara growing up years.... | |
I have decided to switch to blogger. Click on to this link http://roschng.blogspot.com/ Please log on to blogspot for all my future post. Have a great weekend to all of you. After many thoughts, I decided to convert the craft room to the boys’ room. The other day, I asked Shayne if he wants to sleep together with Sean. He replied me instantly… “YES”. I told him that after Emma leaves, he will share a room with Sean. He turned to Emma and asked her when she is going home. This morning, he asks her again…. “ when are you going home?” Well, that may be a good idea… that will somehow ease the pressure of her absence. Shayne is very close to Emma. She will be going back on the 27 Nov 08. As for Sean, whenever I asked him to sleep on his own... he always tell me he cannot. I replied by saying that Faith and Gwen are sleeping in their own room already. His reply: ' Mommy, don't compare. I told you God made everyone different already. God made me different and special too.. that's why I cannot but Faith and Gwen can......". That is his reply to most of our question... when we compare him with others..... Due to time constraints, my library project is half completed. Now I have to do up the boys’ room first. They told me the colour schemes and furniture they wanted already. Will make a trip down to IKEA and Spotlight this weekend to get their beds and tables and curtain. Since there is no more spellings and homework, we brought them to the shopping malls and games arcade a lot. We went to Spotlight for a sewing machine lucky draw, will pass it to Emma if I get it, on 11 Nov 08. But…. We dropped the lucky draw coupon into the box… and went for Ice Cream. Came back… and … missed the draw… Too bad….The boys equate Spotlight to Lucky draw now. I told them that we are going Spotlight this weekend, they asked me if we are going for a lucky draw again…. Cute huh? Sean’s Birthday Updates…. Mac Donald’s party venues are fully booked. Sean birthday party shall be at home. 23 Nov 08 at 6.30pm. This is a very small scale party. Surfin, Claire and Lynn… please drop by. No need to bring any present, just bring your kiddos along. Foon Che, please come down if you can. Have a great weekend to all. We went to get a maid replacement yesterday. We have been deliberating on getting a helper from either Indonesia or Philippines. After many thoughts, we decided to get an Indonesian helper… Currently our two Philippines helpers talk way too much. My mom always complains that Ivy placed Sara in her Jumperoo and talk to Emma. Sara does not like the Jumperoo and wants out everytime she is place in it. Gotta keep the Jumperoo now. Our new helper is a 30 years old Indonesian… just keep our finger cross that she will fit into our family well. Emma will be going back to the Philippines on 28 Nov 08. We reckoned that Shayne will be very much affected by her absence…. A tough transition for us again. We will place another bed for Shayne in our room. Our small room has to accommodate 3 beds now. Guess what: I am deciding which bed to get for the boys…. Sweat over such small issue right???? Due to space constrains, I had wanted to get a double decked bed for the boys. But my mom reprimanded me… “ What double decked bed??? There are so many rooms in the house… why go for double decked bed… “ She is so worried that the boys will fall from the double decked bed. Double decked bed is out. So, I told Sean that I am getting a bed with another pull-out bed. Shayne will sleep on top and he sleeps on the pull out bed…. (Sean cannot sleep on the top bed as he may roll down on Shayne!) Sean reply: Mommy, I must sleep on top…. if I sleep on the pull out bed… ants will bite me???” So no go for the bed + pull out bed…. I reckoned I have got to get two separate beds for the boys and re-arrange the furniture in our room. The boys will be back to school today, Monday, after 1 week of HFMD and 1 week of rest. They look forward to school. What they did for the past two weeks..... watch TV programme, played games - loads of Wii games, watched Pokemon cartoons ( that is their latest craze). I taught Sean Art, drawing, these two weeks. Draw what? Pokemon characters of course. He draws Pokemon characters pretty well now. So far he can draw 6 of them very well. These past weeks, we read a lot. Sean reading improved, and as for Shayne, his attention span on reading has lengthened. Oh yes, thank you Pak Pak Jeff for the books that were added to the boys library. Sean and Shayne loves them. By the way, we thank you Ta gugu for her time here past two weeks. She spent two weeks taking care of the boys. This period of HFMD has been tough on everyone. To be honest, I am rather disappointed with the school in the preventive measures taken in spreading HFMD..... I knew that this HFMD is difficult to prevent as that boy with HFMD has no symptom. He vomited in class and thus spread the virus to all in class.... and to make the matter worse, he vomited during NAP TIME! These two weeks had been really tough. I'm glad it is over. Ta gugu went back yesterday. Sean kept saying that he missed her. Hope she come over for Sean's birthday party. Ya, Sean requested a Mac Donald's birthday party. Will check it out tomorrow If Kallang Mac Donald's birthday party is available on 23 Nov 08. This year we will not be celebrating Sean's birthday in Little Fairyland. Here are some photos of Ta Gugu and the boys. It is really difficult to get a proper photo.... A daughter brings sunshine to brighten our days. A daughter brings joy through her loving ways. A daughter is a blessing that comes from above. A special and beautiful treasure to love. Sara @ 1 year old Dear Sara, How time flies…. You are already ONE…. Happy First Birthday Sara. You are an easy baby who gave us so much laughter and joy. You shower everyone with your warm and beautiful smile. You are no longer the adoring infant, you are about to enter a whole new phase in which you gain some independence. We love you so much. Love Mummy and Daddy. So, what is our little princess up to at ONE year old….. Weight 10.9kg Height : 76cm HC: 47cm
- our pink girl has a very beautiful smile. - - loves Barney. Her birthday gift from me…. A Barney as tall as her.
- - Able to walks 8-10 steps unaided.....The next step is independent walking, talking and curious toddlerhood.
- - very vocal and animated.
- - Enjoys watching her brothers play. She engages in their play most of the time.
- - Understand many words and can say papa and mama really clear. She tells us what she wants by pointing.
- - She loves the remote control and named it ‘wa wa’. This is because she relate the remote control to the Chinese song “Ni Wah Wah”.
- Likes evening stroll with mommy, watching kitty cats, birdies, doggies along the way.
Her 5 gugus and pakpak Weng came over for her 1st birthday. Thank you for all of your wonderful time spent and ang pows..... We had scheduled a birthday party for her on 1 Nov 08. Her birthday party was postponed as Sean and Shayne contacted HFMD. The boys are certified fit for school on Monday. But we are keeping them at home till next Monday. Anyway, we went ahead with a small celebration for her, minus all the cousins and friends. Daddy's lil' girl is one year old today..... Some photos to share..... Shayne was feverish on Friday, brought him to the Ped. Doc said Shayne has a throat infection. On Sunday, one small dot appeared on his palm. As the Ped clinic is closed, we brought him to the GP, dr confirmed that Shayne has HFMD. However, his red spot recovered the following day and no other symptom surfaced thereafter. As for Sean, he complained of a sore-throat. His fever started on Monday, fever was high on Tues, 39.6C. Doctor cannot confirmed if he has HFMD cos’ no symptoms yet. We brought him to the doc again yesterday, he has a few spots on his elbow, 3 small spot in the throat. So doc confirmed it is HFMD. His few small spots have increased today. Sean is rather cute, I simply asked: “Why so many red spots.” He answered me: “Don’t you remember what the doctor said, he said that these red spots normally travel to other parts of the body…. Like the hands, legs, bump bump…..” See, this is how little kids interpret adult conversation. Hopefully Sara will stay clean of any HFMD. Her birthday celebration with their cousins and friends will be postponed. Perhaps have to celebrate her birthday with Sean’s birthday. However, as her gugus and pakpak are coming down this weekend, we shall carry on with her birthday celebration (just cakes and candle blowing) with them. Gwen and Nicole are down with HFMD too. These few children played together and contacted HFMD. However, the HFMD virus manifest differently is each kid…
Shayne : Slight fever coupled with throat infection. One red spot on palm. Sean : Fever. Red spots on limbs and throat. Nicole: Very nasty red spots on limbs and bottom. Surfin said that these bumps take 2 weeks to recover. Gwen: Fever. 10 ulcers located in mouth. Lynn said that Gwen find it really painful to swallow… ouch….. Sean and Shayne are happy staying at home… ta gugu came over to help look after them. They will not be going to school for the next two weeks. Dr said that Shayne will be clear by this Friday. We will bring him to the doctor on Friday again. If everything is clear, he will be going to My Gym on Sat. As for Sean, we shall stop his Twinkle Star lessons for at least two weeks. I gathered that his spots and blisters are very contagious.
I brought the boys to the Podiatrist Clinic for a follow up check on their flat feet. Sean made a new flat feet in-sole as he has way outgrown the ones made in 2007. The podiatrist ,Helen, said that as Sean grew so much within a year, she made the insole one size larger. Helen confirmed that Shayne is flat feet too. However, due to his age, he will only need his flat feet in-sole when he turns four. After the clinic, we went to Toy R Us to pick Sara's birthday present. I got her a huge Barney, Daddy gave her an inflatable water play pool with slide. Since we are in Toy R Us, I get the boys to pick a toy each. There is children hair cut saloon in Toy R Us. The boys trimmed their hair and the hairdresser gave them a balloon each. The boys stayed at home on Wed and Thurs due to a HFMD outbreak in school. Today Sean went back to school. Shayne skipped school today as is down with sore throat. I picked up a few pattern papers from our scrapbooking shop after the lessons. I tried some layering technique and ended up with this layout title: Brotherly Love. Black and white photos on vibrant coloured paper. Jounal:- The two of you are so lucky to have each other to play, talk and fight with. Shayne at 3.5 years old likes to imitate Sean's every action and word. I enjoy watching them play. Shayne found this bench and immediately called out to Sean to play "Choo Choo Train" game on this bench. | craft | Oct 22, '08 11:27 AM for everyone |
I have not done serious scrapbooking for quiet a while. I have been busy with kiddos and work. I am in the process of revamping my craft room. Will post a pic when it's completed. Over the weekend, I attended two classes and completed 6 layouts. Three of the layouts are here and three is incomplete... will upload when they are done. Title:- Relaxation time ....... After a day of shopping, this is our coffee break before continue our shopping spree. Title: Fabulous Memories Photo taken in Suntec. Title: My Gym A layout of Sara enjoying herself in My Gym. | Leader | Oct 21, '08 1:48 AM for everyone |
Sean told me that his classmate, Angel, is the leader in class most of the time. He said that he wants to be the leader too, but Teacher Milley always appoint Angel to be the leader. I do not understand what he meant by being a leader, perhaps its being the monitor. But from the conversation I had with him, it appeared that leader is different from monitor. I probed further.... and finally realised that he wants to be the leader cos' of the authority given to that 'leader'. The leader is given the authority to go around telling the classmate off and threatened to report him or her to the teachers if they misbehaved.
So... he wants the authority given to the leader.... minus the responsibilty huh? With that teary eyes and sad face.... I bet he really wants to be the leader in class. I comforted him by telling him that should he wants to be a leader, he must prove that he is worthy of that position. That innocent face with question mark all over indicated that he does not quiet understand what his mommy is talking about. Before he sleep, I told him that I will inform Teacher Milley to rotate the leader choice weekly. At 5 years old, he knew that authority comes with being a leader. This is for you..
Dear Sean,
With that authority... comes great responsibilties too. In work, your mommy is the leader all the time. Leader will take all the credit and the blame. Leader has to be responsible for all the team members actions.... it is not as easy. At times, I want to be a follower too..after being leader for so long. Leader or not a leader is insignificant........the important thing is to be happy.
As a mom, I want you to become great people. But out of all the dreams I have for you, what I want most is for you to be happy. A lifetime of good days and happy thoughts for you my lil' man, Sean. These few days, I am busy with my scrapbooking again.... I have stop for quiet a while. So, I signed up for a few classes and completed 6 layouts which I am very satisfied with. Will post them once I completed. Sara will be celebrating her 1st birthday on 1 Nov 08. It is a very small scale birthday party with immediate family members and of course my three friends, Surfin, Claire and Lynn. Yes, Lynn indicated that she may not attend cos' of her mom's spinal operations. We will kept her in our prayers, she will be alright. That's all for the day, gotta get back to work. Will update all on my completed scrapbook pages. | Friday | Oct 17, '08 1:27 AM for everyone |
Where has all the time gone to... our baby..... is growing up so fast. Look at her, a big girl now. At 11+ months, compared to her two brothers at the same age, she is definately more mature in thoughts and actions. She crawls very well now and can stand, without support, for a while. Survival instinct, she hold on to her toys tightly should Shayne go anywhere near her. She adores Sean a great deal and enjoys the piggy-back ride on Sean. Her fave hand gesture is pointing... while carrying her, she normally dictates the directions she wants to go. She sends her brothers off to school every morning at the gate. Sometimes, if my work schedule permits, I'll bring her to Little Fairyland in the evening when I pick up the boys. That's all for the week. Have a great and enjoyable long weekend to all. Shayne wanted a Ben 10 bag…on top of so many other bags he already own… but since Sean has it, I decided to get it for him. These days, he is very competitive…. If Sean is writing, he’ll run to me and request a pencil and paper. If Sean is playing games, he wants to play too. His mannerism is an exact replica of Sean. All is the same … except on their perception of food. Sean loves food and Shayne does not enjoy food. Winnie the Pooh Yesterday, Sean told my mom to go inside his school to see Winnie the Pooh… Winnie came to the school????. My mom related this incident to me. I questioned him and realized that a new teacher named Winnie came to replace Teacher Allison. Winnie the Pooh… that is his fave character since baby till 3 years old. The teachers turnover rate in Little Fairyland is pretty high. It is tough getting good teachers these days. Childcare teachers.. they are in great demand. It is a good field to get into… Surfin, perhaps you can consider this. K1 and N1 boys....
Shayne told me two weeks ago that he is in N2 now. In fact he go around telling everyone that he is in N2 and is no longer a N1 boy. I gathered from his teachers that he is in N2 cos' he go around telling the N1 students to perform My Gym moves in class!!!... Sara enjoys My Gym free play.....
Download this and other original video files with Multiply Premium. I bought a bake pau for Sean’s breakfast last Thursday. This is the first time I got it for him for breakfast.
My Bake Pau conversation with Sean…. Sean:- Mommy, the bake pau is super nice. I like it a lot. What is that call? Me: That is Bake Pau…. Siao Bau… Sean: I like it so much, can I have one and a half bake pau tomorrow. Me: Sean, one is enough. But not tomorrow as you just ate it today. My mom: (Mom overheard the conversation…) Sean, Ah Ma make bake pau for you this weekend, ok. Sean: Ok. I want 5 bake paus……
With that conversation, my mom actually go through her stack of very old recipes - she searched for half a day and finally located her bake pau recipe (she learnt to make this bake pau more than 30 years ago). It has been a real long time since she bake that….. perhaps the last time she made bake pau for us was about 10 years ago. Indeed, my mom dotes on Sean. Whatever things or request from Sean, my mom will do it for him. Shayne enjoyed rolling the pau dough. I have wanted to get a play doh set for him yesterday. But after second thought, I never get it for him. I am going to have a cookie baking session with the boys this Sunday. Sean enjoying his bake pau. He is the first to try the pau…* he loves it* . Our family likes bread. Made these over the weekend. Have a great week ahead.
Sara, out of all the dreams I have for you…. what I wanted most if for you to be happy. It amazes me how much you are being love... we are so blessed to have you. Thank you for completing our family. Love always.... Daddy and Mommy You have a very cheerful personality and love outdoor a lot.
Sara @ 11 months old. Weight : 10.7kg Height : 76 cm
Now that she’s only one month shy of her first birthday….. what is she up to…..
imitate word sounds and inflections… as well as actions too….
babbling in short sentences that sound like a foreign language all the time. We do understand a few words from her – mama, papa, baba (eat), brd (bird), wof wof (dog), liat (light), baet (beat) Makes a lot of noise whenever she never gets her way
Assert herself among her brothers and begin to engage in parallel play. very sociable and interacts well with others fave food is small round cookies… the ones that melt in the mouth. started her first gym class in My Gym on 27/9/08 and 1st free play on 2/9/08.
drink from the cup and lately her water bottle (Shayne gave her a water bottle two weeks ago.)
likes all her cloth book and bite her board books…. She enjoys turning the pages. The other day, I gave her a carpark coupon. She plucked the coupon tabs and ate them…
purposely drop objects for us to pick it up for her…. She does that again and again... defiance??? I suppose it's just her natural curiosity to see how the world works.. likes the buttons on mobile phones and TV remote control. A photo with her every month Barney.... happy baby with a beautiful smile gets cuter each day…. | Play | Sep 29, '08 1:50 PM for everyone |
The boys love to play pretend games…. Especially the crocodile game…. The other night while helping to arrange the books in the library, they played the crocodile game with daddy. They are on land (reading platform) and croc in the moat.
We will be having a reading corner in the library; this platform is half a meter above the floor level. Currently, this room is in a big mess, I’ll have to arrange all the books in age group for easy reference. Singapore Grand Prix Conversation between Sean & Faith We were watching the race on TV. Whenever the drivers got into an accident, they stopped their activities and watch.... Hamilton came in 3rd…… This is the conversation between Sean and Faith..... Faith: “He looks like Obama.” Sean: “No, he looks like Tiger Woods.” Faith: “Who is Tiger Woods?” Sean: “You don’t know who he is???? He is the world champion for golf. You mean you don’t know.. And who is Obama?” Faith: …..*silence*…… ( I suppose she still cannot understand the concept of election and president yet. Faith’s daddy told Sean that Obama may be the most powerful / important person in the world by end of the year) Before he bedtime…. Sean asked me if Obama is a superhero character???!!!. I was like, ok, I’ll tell you tomorrow……….– boys oh boys…. Super-heros, fighting, aliens, villains……… From this conversation, I realized that kids picked up loads of things from their surrounding. Sean is exposed to all sorts of sports by daddy, so he actually knows many things about sports. ……daddy….gotta teach him current affairs too, huh…..
 | My Gym | Sep 28, '08 2:50 PM for everyone |
Sara went for her 1st lesson..... this is the beginning of the many lessons that will follow suit.... Her 1st lesson - My Gym Waddlers class. She enjoyed the class, the teachers and friends.... and most of all her friend.... Xeon is there too. This gym session will be a great catch-up time with Lynn. I still remember very clearly the day I brought Sean to My Gym, that is about 3 years back...... wow, time really flies.... Sean then follow by Shayne and not finally Sara is in My Gym already. Shayne started his first independent class in My Gym. He participates in all the activities and likes this class a lot. Finally, we decided to enrol him in Twinkle Stars. He went to Twinkle Stars after his gym class.
